We invite you to join us at the Intellectual Property Academic Conference and the Information Environmentalism Conference. The conferences will be held in the historical and vibrant port city of Fremantle, Western Australia between 2-5 February 2016. They are hosted by the Faculty of Law, University of Western Australia.

Intellectual property laws clearly have the potential to impact the information commons, making these two conferences natural partners:

• The Intellectual Property Academics Conference is an opportunity for intellectual property scholars to share their research on a wide range of intellectual property law issues.

• The Information Environmentalism Conference will bring together people from all walks of life with an interest in protecting and developing the information environment and the information commons.

It is often said that we live in the information age. Yet what does this mean? And how should information be regulated in the 21st century? By exploring in parallel issues relating to intellectual property law and the information commons, participants will be encouraged to think about ways to resolve the inherent tensions between private and public concerns in the digital era.
